Apple Products May Get Pricier With New 15 Percent US Tariff on Chinese Products


Some Apple products like AirPods, Apple Watch, HomePod, and iMac computer systems were likely to get costlier as the new 15 percent US tariffs on Chinese items came into result from Sunday.

Apple has its items put together by Foxconn and other ODMs in China.

” For products covered by Annex A of the August 20, 2019 notification (84 FR 43304), the rate of additional task will be 15 percent on the present reliable date of September 1, 2019. For products covered by Annex C of the August 20 notification, the rate of additional duty will be 15 percent on the present efficient date of December 15, 2019,” checked out the declaration from US Federal Register.

Apple iPhone models might also be around $100 more costly in the US once the next set of 15 percent tariff enters into location from December 15.

The continuous trade-war between the United States and China has caused Apple’s iPhone production expenses to increase as much as 3 percent due to the fact that of the brand-new vindictive tariffs imposed by Beijing.

Trump earlier met Cook throughout a dinner, saying that Apple would be spending “vast amounts of loan in the US.”

“It’s hard for Apple to pay tariffs if they’re competing with a very good company that’s not. I stated, How great a competitor?’ He said they are a great rival. So Samsung is not paying tariffs because they’re based in a various area,” said Trump.
